Monday and Tuesday:  We will finish reading Romeo and Juliet and take the unit test on Friday during the first exam time.  The test will cover the plot, characters, and setting of Romeo and Juliet as well as all the terms associated with Shakspearean drama.  Also, the test will cover the background of Shakespeare and Elizabethan theater from the Powerpoint.

On Wednesday:  we will have a “coffee house” where everyone will read the “Where I’m From” poem.

No class on Thursday; see you for the test on Friday;  Then. . . Have a FANTASTIC SUMMER!!!!!!!

Romeo and Juliet is our final unit.  We will be reading the play from your “pink” text and also watching parts of the movie.  The final test will be next Wednesday, May 20.

End-of-Course test: Thursday and Friday (May 7 and 8)– We will review each day, Mon.- Wed., in class.  Please get on USA Testprep and work some of the practice tests/quizzes.

Odyssey: We finish the Odyssey on Monday; the test is Tuesday.

Romeo and Juliet:  We start with a Powerpoint of background information that contains terms for the unit.  We will read the play together in class.

I-Search:  Extension until Wednesday for steps 1-8.

“Where I’m From” poem is due Friday, May 1st.  You may turn in the written copy, but the preferred way to submit the poem is through Blackboard as a Word document.

All steps (1-7) of the I-Search paper are due by Monday, May.  That is the final day for submission.

Poetry is on Monday and Wednesday this week.  Poetry test is Thursday 4/23.

I- Search is on Tuesday and Thursday.  Assignment 4 is due Tuesday and Assignments 5 and 6 are due Thursday.  Our time is limited and you may have to do some work on a home computer.  We will discuss how to complete the conclusion and Works Cited page in class on Tuesday. Put it all together and turn in the rough draft next week on Tuesday.

End of Course test will be on May 7-8.  We will review each day until the test.

Welcome Back from Spring Break!  Hope it was fun.

This week we finish the I-Search paper.  You should be at Step 4, Research and Articles. By the end of the day on Monday, you should have found all of your articles, read them, and highlighted the answers to your 3 questions.  On Tuesday we’ll discuss how to quote and lead in to quotes and you’ll be answering your questions and turning them in.  After that, it’s the conclusion and you’ll practically have your rough draft finished. 

We will continue with the poetry unit this week.

Vocabulary 7 this week: synonyms and antonyms are due Tuesday; sentences, Wednesday; memory tricks, Thursday; quiz, Friday.

Poetry Unit:  we’ll begin the unit creating a “found poem” from a page of TKAM. You’ll get a packet for the unit which contains terms, poems, and handout.  This will be our text for the unit.  The test will be next week on Friday.

I-Search paper:  we will start this week on another paper using research.
